Purchased off of Facebook Marketplace as a “paint & done” truck, Hot Wheels had some secrets in store for us. Upon starting our minor bodywork & paint, we realized there was far more rust than the eye could see.
We peeled back the onion and ended up replacing EVERYTHING on the exterior body before paint could begin. Next up…the engine. We quickly realized that our “running & driveable” purchase was in need of a brand new engine & ordered up a 400HP & got that installed. INTERIOR: We installed 2008 Silverado seats, complete with the K5 Squared custom flip kit, upgraded to 3 point seatbelts, & found some Tahoe seats for the back along with the K5 Squared 3rd row seat mount kit.
We worked very hard & were able to retain the original woodgrain dash, steering wheel and steering column, as well as the original grill & headlight bezels (we did paint them for cosmetic reasons).
And the sound system….THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEADPHONES AND A ROCK CONCERT!
